Rhon, days back e cabbies went on strike at Flinders St?
didn't it created massive havoc?
It did. The govt bowed down to their request in the end
because they held up traffic for more than 24 hours at the
very busy junction outside Flinders Street!
It was a massive gridlock, but they got what
they wanted, which sounds very reasonable, actually : a safety
shield to protect them from passengers who might assault them, and
pre-paid fares for night rides.
I think the cabbies fought for action when yet another of their
mate got seriously wounded after a passenger bashed him up.
Lots of cases like that here, where they are either drunk or
drugged or are just out to rob the cabbies.
